It is the first volume of a trilogy whose action takes place during the German occupation of France and which also includes 101, avenue Henri-Martin and Le Diable en laugh again. But La Bicyclette bleue is above all the first book of a saga comprising ten books. The title refers to the means of transport used by Léa to cross the demarcation line.
