Description
Print of the 1936 work by L.S. Lowry: Laying a Foundation.
This scene details a crowd attending a ceremony of dignitaries laying a foundation stone. If you look at the body language and expressions of the attendees, you’ll find they look bored. As with many works by the artist, the industrial landscape is visible in the background. Here too are the medieval features such as the church. The two facets married together form the contemporary landscape. The print is in good condition with some small chips in the wood frame. Framed in England with a glass cover and string to hang it. The frame dimensions are 40 by 34. The print dimensions are 25.5cm by 17cm.
